MRI is one of the most popular diagnostic methods in modern medicine. MRI is completely safe for human health and has certain advantages over X-ray and ultrasound examinations. Frequently Asked Questions

Will it hurt?

No. Because MRI is "non-invasive", the examination is painless. However, your doctor may use a contrast agent to better visualize the details of your anatomy. If so, you can get a simple injection intravenously before or during the test.

Does the device use X-rays?

No. MRI uses a powerful magnet in combination with radio frequency waves to create images of your internal organs and structures. There is no ionizing (X-ray) radiation.

Is claustrophobia a severe contraindication to MRI?

Claustrophobia is a condition that is accompanied by anxiety while in a confined space. If the concept of "claustrophobia" for you is not just a word, but a constant haunting fear, we assure you, our team can easily examine patients with this phobia.

Are bone structures better analyzed on CT and soft tissues on MRI?

The choice of diagnosis depends on the clinical task and the patient's condition. For example, stress fractures are better diagnosed on MRI and multifracture fractures are better diagnosed on CT. Choosing the right diagnosis and scope of research is the task of the attending physician and radiologist. There are cases when it is necessary to perform both CT and MRI, which in such situations are complementary methods of imaging. It is not recommended to undergo research without indications for self-appointment.
